What?

The magnitude of what im trying to do, and the butterfly effect. The lenses, and the options. How im going to break this down to such a granular level, and the commitment it will take. The opposition of goals.

I want to explain stuff, and give GMs the knowledge they need to live in my world, and populate it with creations of their own - But to do that, i need to condense it.

I want to finish it, but the more i keep working at it, the more concepts i have, the more doors it opens, and the more lenses that i see it through.

I experimented with the narrative convention to give 4 random starting nodes, leading to a crazy 128 endings.

  • Blank Slate Creation

  • Memory Wipe

  • Time/Dimension Displacement

  • Newborn

  • Spirit or Entity Rebirth

  • Mythic Origin

  • Amnesiac with No Past

  • Dream or Simulation

  • Cursed or Blessed

  • Narrative Device

  • Artificial Intelligence Emergence

  • Cloning or Genetic Engineering

  • Stasis or Cryo-Sleep Accident (futurama)

  • Quantum Leap or Time Paradox

  • Simulation or Virtual Reality

  • Alien Entity

  • Experimental Subject

  • Dimensional Traveler

  • Cosmic Rebirth

So What?

Whats the use of the option - feeling of freedom. my original contribution to knowledge. Breaking the conventions of wayfinding/signposting.

It's all been done before - literally all of it. Nearly every one of my "unique ideas" upon examination, has been done before in a different form.

Though, before i forget - Cosmic rebirth - Though it doesnt really fit in the traditional cyberpunk setting, for a tabula rosa beginning (ie futurama), this can be linked to the twist (ie the Awoken) - But even this might be seen as a rip off. Starfield?

Now What? Where have i arrived conceptually.

Ive arrived at my next research statement. - What does signposting mean in this project.

Then: Make, Make, Make. Use this to help guide future decision making.

Later: Should I be doing this as a creative work, to publish and release as as a game? Or should I be developing a methodology for others to follow to make similar works? Or both? Or neither - Should i keep this methodology to myself, and use it for publishing a range of titles based around the same thing, like "Choose your own adventure" books.
